He so looked up to you, and your influence lives on in Mike's nephew, Trey, who's starting guitar lessons on Mike's old guitar. I only wish he could have you as a teacher and mentor. Not many other adults saw Mike's musical and wiseass potential the way you did. I'll always be grateful for all you did for him when he was still a misguided, addled kid. I believe your influence had a lot to do with the man he became. You were a hell of a good influence on him. The fact that Mike wanted me to ride him to his graduation was a real source of pride for me. That was such an important day in his life, and the fact that he wanted me to figure so prominently in that day was a real honor. I don't even know where to start...he was a beautiful, crazy, troubled, confused, sensitive, brilliant, brave guy. The angels must have their hands full...but they're having fun!!
