One of Mike’s favorites, this is my own recipe.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add cranberries and eggs, one at a time.
Sift and add dry ingredients, then add orange peel and juice.
Grease two medium bread pans and divide the batter evenly between the two.
Bake at 350 degrees for one hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Cool before serving. Serve with apple butter.
